The Story Behind the Trails.
On the road full-time since 2019 — not because travel is the answer, but because of what it shows you about yourself.

Three hearts, one compass.
We're Matt, Erika, and our daughter Shanti. Matt spent twelve years behind professional cameras before pointing one at our own life. Erika — California-raised, met Matt on a beach in Barbados — is the heart of every story we tell. And Shanti has grown up with the world as her backyard: bus campsites, night markets, village schools, and more sunsets than most of us get in a lifetime.
The Journey So Far
Every chapter taught us something we couldn't have learned staying still.
An Island and a Camera
It started in Barbados — where Matt and Erika met, and where the first vlogs quietly found an audience of hundreds of thousands. A 12-year video producer with a camera, a Californian with a wild heart, and a realization: the life everyone said we should want wasn't the one we wanted.

We Built Our Home With Our Hands
We converted school buses into homes and lived on the road across America for three years. Solar panels, plumbing, epoxy countertops — we learned it all the hard way, documented every step, and found a community of people living tiny and dreaming big.

The World Became the Classroom
Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Japan, Cambodia, Qatar. Shanti learned by living it — tuk-tuks through the mountains, off-grid farms, village schools that welcomed her like family. This is what we mean by world schooling.

Pura Vida, For a Season
Tamarindo gave us surf mornings, a slower rhythm, and hard lessons about what we actually need. One month became nine. Then the road called again — it usually does.

Sayulita, México — and the Boat on the Horizon
Today home is a surf town on Mexico's Pacific coast, where this channel is going full-time. And the dream pulling it all forward: a catamaran, the Caribbean, and the next chapter written on the water. Follow us to the boat.

What We Stand For
Family First
The memories come before the footage. Shanti shows up in our story the way she shows up in our life — naturally, never staged. We're making a childhood, not just videos.
Travel as the Mirror
The breakdowns, the border crossings, the fear about money — travel surfaces all of it. We share the real stuff because growth is the point, not the postcard.
Cultural Connection
We travel with acceptance. Local buses over tour buses, village markets over malls, and the humility to be guests in someone else's home.
Where the Trail Has Led
Six years, three continents, one school bus, a few thousand tacos — and over 270 videos documenting all of it, the beautiful and the hard.
